Peter Lik is one of the world’s most innovative and prolific landscape photographers.
He was born in Melbourne Australia, the only son of Czech immigrant parents. Completely self-taught, his enthusiasm for his work is equalled only by his unbounded energy and deep affinity for the land. In 1999 Peter Lik realised a lifelong dream to open his own photographic gallery.
Since then, demand for his work has resulted in the establishment of five more signature showcases throughout Australia and the USA. With handcrafted local timber floors and unique custom designed furniture, his galleries radiate a beautiful ambience and are a fitting environment in which to profile his extensive collection of limited edition photographs.
Peter’s artistic landscapes have been recognised with a growing list of awards. The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) has honoured his talents with their highest accolades, including “Master of Photography”. As an investment opportunity, Peter’s images are increasing in value as respect and recognition for his work spreads throughout the world.
Peter Lik's panoramic images of the Australian landscape reveal the artistic passion behind his search for the true essence of photography. His pictures vividly tell the story of this great land in his use of natural colour; sense of magnitude, and moody isolation. Peter combines his love of the environment with a dedicated desire to record what he sees for the pleasure of others. The Australian continent, through his eyes, becomes a journey through time and a celebration of the art of photography.
