Shot at and around Lake Eyre in central Australia, this series of 11 photographs investigate the vastness of this environment. There's a purity which exists in the desolation of the place. Hostile and foreign, almost alien; the surface of Lake Eyre extends seemingly forever and one gets a sense of the true scale of things - physical and otherwise. Existing alongside the midday extremes of brightness and whiteout are the long twilights and sunrises, where pastel colours that wash the sky are reflected on the white salt playa. Some say a timeless place but in meany respects the passage of time can be felt acutely here, or rather the sensation that time itself passes more slowly.
